Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant
We are working with a client based in Portadown to recruit for a Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant to be part of their administration function. This is a part time, permanent role with flexible working hours – 20 – 25 per week.
The Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate financial records using Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Preparing monthly and annual accounts.
- Reconciling all bank accounts.
- Assisting financial auditors with the annual audit.
- Updating the Omega system, reconciling monthly standing orders, and supporting the continued development and use of the system.
- Preparing quarterly Gift Aid submissions to HMRC using Omega.
- Administering payroll in line with HMRC requirements.
- Receiving, checking, and filing invoices against delivery notes, and processing invoices for approval.
- Distributing bank statements to organisation
- Maintaining registers of organisation treasurers and bank account signatories.
- Completing statutory and regulatory submissions as required.
- Overseeing utilities renewals (excluding contract negotiation).
- Attending Finance Committee meetings (typically held in the evenings).
- Administrative duties
What you will need to have for the Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant role:
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong Finance experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Proficient in MS Office to include Excel.
