Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant

We are working with a client based in Portadown to recruit for a Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant to be part of their administration function.  This is a part time, permanent role with flexible working hours – 20 – 25 per week.

The Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records using Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Preparing monthly and annual accounts.
  • Reconciling all bank accounts.
  • Assisting financial auditors with the annual audit.
  • Updating the Omega system, reconciling monthly standing orders, and supporting the continued development and use of the system.
  • Preparing quarterly Gift Aid submissions to HMRC using Omega.
  • Administering payroll in line with HMRC requirements.
  • Receiving, checking, and filing invoices against delivery notes, and processing invoices for approval.
  • Distributing bank statements to organisation
  • Maintaining registers of organisation treasurers and bank account signatories.
  • Completing statutory and regulatory submissions as required.
  • Overseeing utilities renewals (excluding contract negotiation).
  • Attending Finance Committee meetings (typically held in the evenings).
  • Administrative duties

 

What you will need to have for the Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant role:

  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong Finance experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in MS Office to include Excel.
